Searching for the best places to stay in Scottsdale, AZ? Read all about Andaz Scottsdale Resort and discover what makes this hotel so special!

For those who have been following along on the blog or Instagram, it will come as no surprise that Jake and I visit Scottsdale, AZ, at least once a year. While we used to consider it our "secret getaway", word has definitely gotten out. We still love it though...even with the higher prices and crowds.

One of the reasons we gravitate towards Scottsdale is that it offers the perfect mix of nature and city.

With 300+ sunny days a year, an incredible restaurant, bar, and coffee shop scene, gorgeous luxury resorts, and scenic desert hikes…we just can’t seem to get enough.

After multiple stays at Andaz Scottsdale, I figured it’s high time I finally dedicate a blog post to one of our favorite resorts in Arizona. I am not one to return to the same hotel over and over again, as I love to change things up, but Andaz is the exception.

If you’re planning a trip to Scottsdale, I highly recommend Andaz Scottsdale Resort. I’ve been pointing my family and friends to this Scottsdale hotel for years…and now I want to share this special place with you!

Location

Andaz Scottsdale is conveniently located minutes from Old Town Scottsdale, Fashion Square, the Arts District, and some of my favorite restaurants, boutiques, and coffee shops.

I especially appreciated that I was a five-minute drive from Schmooze and Berdena’s (two of my favorite Scottsdale coffee shops) as well as Kaleidoscope for afternoon juices and smoothies.

Piestewa Peak and Camelback Mountain, my two favorite challenging hikes, are fifteen to twenty minutes away by car. There are also two jogging routes you can take from the hotel. Be sure to ask for the handy map that shows where to go.

The ideal location is one of the many reasons this is one of the best places to stay in Scottsdale.

The Rooms

One of the most unique aspects of this Scottsdale resort is the fact that the rooms are little bungalows. The entire property is made up of individual, one-story buildings. It’s quite a massive footprint at 36,000 square feet of outdoor space. The sprawling grounds are always immaculate.

The bungalows are spacious and designed with a “minimalist luxury” concept.

Everything in the room serves a purpose and is quality. The bathroom is spacious with plenty of counter space and ideal lighting. The attached little patio is a nice plus. Jake and I would often get smoothies or coffees to-go and enjoy them on our patio in the early mornings.

Dining at Andaz Scottsdale Resort

Andaz Scottsdale has a delicious restaurant on property called Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen.

The menu is inspired by the flavors of Arizona with locally sourced ingredients. The indoor space is a living room-style environment. I prefer the patio as the view of Camelback Mountain is stunning. This is the perfect place for sunset cocktails. Hit up their happy hour for discounted cocktails, beer, and wine from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm!

The breakfast at Weft & Warp is particularly good. I highly recommend the chilaquiles, chorizo and egg burrito, and the blue corn pancakes.

The Turquoise Pool Bar offers a menu of fun cocktails, beer, and wine, alongside snackable items like tacos, ceviche, carne asada fries, and shrimp quesadillas. If you have a group, go for a pina colada, margarita, or frose pitcher! Happy hour is 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and includes my favorite drink, the Valley Girl Spritz (similar to an Aperol spritz).

Common Spaces: Pool, Fitness, Grounds

The fitness center has everything you need and more. It’s an indoor/outdoor design with garage door-style windows that can be opened all the way. The view is quite nice as you look out onto the spa pool and Camelback Mountain.

I also loved that fitness classes were offered. A barre, yoga, and boot camp class was offered during my last stay.

There are three outdoor pools for guests to use. The spa pool is for adults only. I prefer the main pool because it’s the largest and has more of a lively vibe. The pool temperature was always perfect. It’s heated in the evening and morning and refreshingly cool (but not too cold) during the hot afternoons.

The grounds are pristine and make you feel like you’re in a mini desert oasis. Chairs and hammocks are scattered throughout the property. There are also a couple of fire pits, which I love to enjoy in the evening.

Andaz is one of the most pet-friendly Hotels in Scottsdale, AZ

This resort is easily one of the best pet-friendly hotels in Scottsdale, AZ. We've brought Bailey, our ten-pound rescue dog, a few times. She loves it and goes everywhere with us.

She would sit under our chair at the pool and accompany us to brunch or dinner on the patio of Weft & Warp.

The staff was beyond friendly with her, which made me feel comfortable bringing her along.

It’s usually a $150 pet fee per stay for up to two dogs (50 pounds for one dog or 75 combined pounds for two dogs).

Andaz Scottsdale Resort Rates

Rates heavily fluctuate depending on the month, season, and events.

February – March seems to be the most expensive, with rates above $600.

Low season (June – August) is a steal with rates starting at $200.

All other months fluctuate from $350 to $550, depending on event schedules (MLB Spring Training, Waste Management Phoenix Open, etc.).

I've also found prices to be low right before Thanksgiving and most of December.

Unfortunately, Andaz, like so many other hotels today, adds in an annoying $50/night "resort fee". This used to cover parking, but now it does not ($23).

While it's frustrating that this hotel can now cost a pretty penny with all the taxes and fees, I still believe it's one of the best resorts in Scottsdale if you are flexible with your dates. You'll find when researching hotels and resorts that this is par for the course.

In Summary

We've stayed at Andaz Scottsdale Resort four or five times now, and we still love it as much as we did the first visit.

If you’re looking for a place to relax, soak in some sun, enjoy patio cocktails during sunset, and take in the beauty of a desert landscape with gorgeous mountain views, Andaz Scottsdale will not disappoint.

Add in the welcoming service, the fact that it's one of the most pet-friendly hotels in Scottsdale, top-notch fitness center, and delicious restaurant…well...let's just say I'm confident it will become a favorite of yours too.
